What makes a political liberal a liberal. That's not as simple a question as it looks. There are probably many, many answers. Is it really possible that all of our national problems have been caused by the Obama Administration? C'mon, that can't be true. Yet the Conservative Media pounds away that it is. If a person bothers to think with an unbiased mind he will find that the Conservative Media is just as incorrect as the Liberal Media. The result is that the conservative and the liberal voting public is receiving biased information on which to make their (intelligent?) choice. This isn't working very well. If it was, we would not have a person like Mr. Obama as President. Of course, the freedom to say and print whatever comes to mind is precious. It does insist however that the listener must consider the source before reaching an opinion on the information. That is the main way to determine an honest opinion and to make an informed vote.
For some reason most members of the Obama Administration have only politically liberal opinions. They refuse to consider any other? This is the mark of an entirely irrational man.
The Conservative Republicans cry "socialism", pound the desk, and do nothing. It happens that at this particular time the Congress has the ability (in numbers) to strike down any opposition. The Obama Administration regularly ignores public opinion, ignores opposition concepts, mangles the Constitution with a firmly biased judiciary, and steadily works to destroy our traditions. When the Obama Administration took office they immediately disregarded proven pathes to freedom and prosperity. They replaced successful history with ideas of proven failure. Unbelievable. Meanwhile, the inept Conservative Republicans folded their opposition tent. Their lack of purpose, priorities, principles and leadership is appalling. What's with THESE people? They can't even come up with an acceptable agenda.

The most influential factor is probably "family tradition". Since the Great Depression of 1929, the Democrat Party has become associated with the European model of liberalism, socialism and communism. This movement sponsored by the Franklyn Delano Roosevelt Administration, and caused the Democrat Party became half of the two party system with the Republicans as the other half. All other political partys were made insignificant and irrelevant.
- By the end of World War II the Democrat Party was known as the little man's party, for the farmers, unions, increasing the money supply, growing the government and deficit spending.
- Roughly, during the same period the Republicans allied with industrial growth, small and large business, individual freedoms, individual independence and free market economics.
