Common Core - Doesnt Work

There are a few class subjects you learned in school and never used or thought of again. So what? Since about 1950 our teachers have been increasingly frustrated by rules and regulations that don't work. From 1900 to 1950 our schools did a often mis-directed but adequate job. Students learned something. They were expected to have a reasonable understanding of the subject in order to advance.

Students knew that teachers were in charge. This notion was reinforced by    supervisors, principals, school districts, and most important, their own parents.

It wasn't a perfect format but it allowed the students to learn how to think. How to concentrate, reason, and develop study habits. If teachers did not do their jobs they were fired. No unions. No lawyers.

If students could not or would not follow the directions, instructions, and/or protocol, they were "held back" (did not graduate to the next level).

Why don't we step back and re-think our educational system? The leaders of most  American schools have been  promoted memorizing data at the expense of learning to think.  By the time our students enter society they are now predestined to receive  a poorly thought out education.
