FV Kiwanis Club / Go or No-Go

I'm concerned. The Fountain Valley Kiwanis Club isn't a thriving. It barely qualifies as a Kiwanis Club. I've been a member since 1993. Membership then was about 18 members. Today it's the same.  Even less because of multiple and senior memberships.

Thinking of "meals" only, it cost $10.00 per member. If four senior members don't attend (-$40), and 14 do (+$140) the club generates a 28% loss.

Members starting new clubs and those struggling to  enlarge small clubs too often fail. Often it is because they do not understand that their attendance, financial support, and volunteer work is crucial to the clubs' success.

COMMON  SENSE

1.  The leaders count the nuts and bolts okay - but neglect traditions, protocols,
          and clear definition of purpose.
2.  The club should have a single President.
3.  Ideally a single Treasurer and single Secretary.
4.  The President and three club members should attend each DCM.
5.  The Treasurer manages two accounts (operating funds & charitable funds),
and prepares a written activity report monthly.
6.   The Secretary reports to KI, club members, and to the BOD monthly.
7.   The leadership to provide a suitable place to meet and a pleasant meal.
8.    A viable Kiwanis Club must support the KI project. (2014-15 ELIMINATE)
