I read an article by this guy. A respected journalist, author, and columnist. And he is a BLIND LIBERAL IDIOT. His recent article tries to make the point that The Tea Party is just another name for the discredited John Birch Society of 40+ years ago. He follows with his description of the "Birchers" as being "well beyond the crackpot fringe" and this sentence; because of the Birchers ". . . a large, volatile constituency has been created that believes darkly in betrayal and conspiracy." That's simply nonsensical baloney. But he leaves no doubt that this large, volatile constituency is the TEA PARTY of today - and claims that; "A mass literature has been disseminated, to push the mad ideas of these exploded crackpots and bigots." This kind of rant reminds one of the "three monkeys" that see no evil, hear no evil, speak no evil. Mr. Goodman is blind to reality.
He apparently is trying to show how Conservatives are promoting "out-of-touch" and dreadful ideas. He failed.
SEN. MARCO RUBIO says: "I do not believe human activity is causing these dramatic changes to our climate." Goodman says; "this contradicts 97% of all climate scientists. That's a lie and he knows it.
MICHELLE BACHMANN has said; "I believe God is going to answer our prayers and we'll be freed from the yoke of Obamacare." In an effort to show Ms. Bachmann as a looney-kook God believer and religious nutcase Mr. Goodmann says; "Americans who don't have knowledge of God's political views simply roll their eyes." More idiot speak.
OBAMACARE is one of the most controversial legislation products of Mr. Obama's administration." It applies to every citizen (except members of Congress) whether religious or not. Ms. Bachmann is quite free to state her beliefs in a communication intended to reach other religious people. It's simply an opposite opinion and does not deserve to be made fun of.
CLOSE CALL. One feature of Obamacare, the requirement that most Americans obtain insurance or pay a penalty was approved by the Supreme Court. The vote was 5 to 4. The decision would have been reversed if just one Justice changed his or her vote. Mr. Goldman says, ". . . this decision affirms the central legislative achievement of Mr. Obama's presidency." Really? The vote was close and 45% of the Supreme Court disagreed. Several polls indicate that more than 50% of American voters also disagree. It remains controversial.
TED CRUZ Then Mr. Goldman quoted Ted Cruz who said: "Judicial activism is judges imposing their policy preferences on the words of the Constitution." In the opinion of most Americans this is exactly what happened." In rebuttal, Mr. Goldman says; "the Supreme Court (and lower courts) can completely disregard the Ted Cruz analysis. In America, politicians PRETEND to speak for the founders and interpret the Constitution based upon the beliefs of their constituents." With that statement, Mr. Goldman callously dismisses any and all opposition, claims that the American Congress only PRETENDS to follow the Constitution, and stupidly accuses Conservatives and members of the Tea Party as being on the crackpot fringe and that they disseminate the ideas of Wexploded crackpots and bigots.
Mr. Goldman, you are a loser.
