Reflections Three

Every living thing (1) begins, (2) experiences time, and then (3) ends. There's nothing mysterious about it nor  is it profound. It is a rather basic fact that applies to every form of life. A "life-time" is the span of time the beginning to the point that it stops.  For those human beings that recently began their span of time - our children - it appears that they may encounter a disturbing future. This has come to our attention because of  our current President Obama. It is perhaps the only positive reaction to his administration of  general incompetence and failure.Human beings have always lived at risk in a dangerous world. Humans instinctively have sought protection from every kind of danger, and that elementary pursuit has helped human beings to led to enrich the world.  One of the most important elements of civilization are the theoretical concepts known as religions. These notes will address only two; Christianity and Islam

Originally people gave religious values to physical things around them - and imaginary concepts. Soon they began intertwining advice, defining virtues, assigning morals, describing ethics, and establishing rules within their various new religions. Each century that passed these religions were modified, changed, or somehow corrupted, yet,  as civilization developed, religions became the foundation of human lives.

They are not all the same - but they have similarities. The most fundamental similarities is the placement of human beings as superior to every other form of life.
